Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $113.86 to $14,755.18.

The best performer of the day was LW.TO, up by 1.22% or 15 cents to $12.43.

Liquor Stores
The worst performer of the day was LTS.TO, down by 1.06% or 13 cents to $12.12.

Portfolio Value Update - February 27, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $69.12 to $14,641.32.

The Canadian markets did fine after the banks posted better than expected earnings. So today my portfolio underperformed the market because I don't have any financial stocks. I've held some bank shares in the past when they were trading at cheaper valuations. They are just too expensive right now. For example, the Royal Bank is trading at P/E ratio of 13, and I would prefer to buy it at P/E of 11.

The best performer of the day was PPL.TO, up by 1.03% or 41 cents to $40.23.

Lightstream Resources
The worst performer of the day was LTS.TO, down by 1.58% or 10 cents to $6.21.

Portfolio Value Update - February 26, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $149.25 to $14,710.44.

This is the first correction after a long 2 weeks gain. The markets should cool down for the rest of the week.

The best performer of the day was FCR.TO, up by 0.57% or 10 cents to $17.50.

The worst performer of the day was LTS.TO, down by 1.87% or 12 cents to $6.31.

Portfolio Value Update - February 25, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $79.71 to $14,870.37.

Another gain day on the market. The TSX index closed down 38.10 points, but my portfolio still managed to close higher. This is due to heavy weighted position in VSN which gained another 18 cents today.

Enercare
The best performer of the day was ECI.TO, up by 1.47% or 15 cents to $10.34. I wrote a few weeks ago, when the stock was approaching $10 level again, that the resistance will be broken this time and the share price will continue to go up. And that's exactly what happened. My next price target for EnerCare is $11.50.

 

Liquor Stores
The worst performer of the day was LIQ.TO, down by 1.59% or 20 cents to $12.36. There are rumours in BC that grocery stores will be allowed to sell liquor. This will impact company's sales of liquor products. I have a very small position in LIQ and I might sell it for a loss if the law in BC will be adapted.

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $153.19 to $14,790.66.

The portfolio is up again for the 12th consecutive trading day.

The best performer of the day was VSN.TO, up by 2.40% or 39 cents to $16.64.

First Capital Realty
The worst performer of the day was FCR.TO, down by 1.64% or 29 cents to $17.36.

Portfolio Value Update - February 21, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $78.19 to $14,637.47.

The portfolio is up for 11 consecutive trading days. Some stocks are becoming very expensive and trading at high valuation. But I'm still happy with the performance.

Student Transportation
The best performer of the day was STB.TO, up by 1.47% or 10 cents to $6.89. I do believe the company is fully valued, but it also have some growth potential. From the technical view, the chart looks very bullish. Both 50 day and 200 day moving average are facing upwards, suggesting a further move to the upside.

Wajax
The worst performer of the day was WJX.TO, down by 0.16% or 6 cents to $37.88.

The worst performer of the day was LTS.TO, down by 1.24% or 8 cents to $6.36.

Portfolio Value Update - February 19, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $127.86 to $14,544.56.

The portfolio advanced for the 9th consecutive day and closed above the 14,500 level. This is my highest level so far. Hopefully it will not descend below $14,000 any time soon.

The best performer of the day was LTS.TO, up by 2.55% or 16 cents to $6.44. This is a second day in a row that LTS is showing an outstanding performance.

Freehold Royalties

The worst performer of the day was FRU.TO, down by 1.54% or 35 cents to $22.36.

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $7.36 to $14,416.70.

When I was checking the market during the day, I was convinced that my portfolio will be in red...NOT. By surprise, it increased by about 7 dollars and gained value for the 8th consecutive trading day. Will it reach $14,500 level before correction?

Portfolio Value Update - February 14, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $102.88 to $14,409.34.

My portfolio is reaching all time high again by surpassing the $14,400 level. All of my stocks, except for LIQ.TO, closed higher by an average of 0.50%.

Enercare
The best performer of the day was ECI.TO, up by 2.14% or 21 cents to $10.03. This is the third time the stock is reaching all time high. I can bet that this time it will advance further.

The worst performer of the day was LIQ.TO, down by 0.08% or 1 cents to $12.11.

Another great day in the market. Most of my stocks advanced and helped my portfolio to increase for the 6th consecutive day.

The worst performer of the day was ECI.TO, down by 0.71% or 7 cents to $9.82.

The market is very grateful to me. Most of my stocks are up and my portfolio is getting a great boost for the 5th consecutive trading day.

The best performer of the day was CPG.TO, up by 1.31% or 50 cents to $38.66.

Medical Facilities
The worst performer of the day was DR.TO, down by 0.64% or 12 cents to $18.76. The technical indicators are turning bearish on this stock and if it falls below $18, a new downtrend will be established.

One of those great days when all of my stocks closed higher. Most of them advanced on average 2-3% and helped to lift my portfolio value above the $14,000 mark. When the markets start to pick up again, dividend payers are the ones to take the lead.

Dividend Income Report - January 2014

For the month of January I received a total of $87.30 in dividends vs $81.64 a year ago. That’s an increase of 6.9 percent on year over year basis! 

My total Year-to-Date dividend income for 2014 is $87.30.

I plan to make new contributions to my TFSA account within the next couple of months. With the new purchases I will be able to achieve $100 per month in dividend income by the end of 2014. 

Portfolio Value Update - February 3, 2014

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $274.80 to $13,869.92.

There's not much I could say. All of my stocks got punished big time. The markets are down by more than 200 points. One would guess that another decline is coming tomorrow. I hope that this is a short term fuzz.
