Welcome back to my blog. It’s time to review the month of July. July was a great month. We went on a road trip. My portfolio value reached an all-time high and my monthly dividends reached a new milestone. If you’re interested in my road trip, I can write a separate blog post, but for now, let’s get straight to the numbers.
Portfolio Value
In July, my portfolio value increased by $2,001 to $75,993. 25% of the increase came from fresh capital; the rest came from dividends and stocks appreciation. I must admit that the stock market is pricey right now and there are fewer deals on the table. We should see a pullback in the fall and towards the end of the year. We always do :)
Dividends
Dividends received in July 2019: $350.27
Dividends received in July 2018: $277.31
Year-Over-Year Dividend Growth: $72.96 or 26%
Year-To-Date Dividend Income: $2,340.38
As you can see from the numbers above, dividends are growing at a healthy rate. A year-over-year increase of 26% is just awesome. I also reached a new milestone of $350/mo from regular dividends (excluding special dividends). Next milestone is $400/mo from dividends.
Contributions
In July, I transferred $575 to my TFSA account. I will continue to contribute the same amount every month. My TFSA contribution limit will be reached by the end of this year.
Transactions
In July, I made two transactions. I sold Pure Multi-Family REIT (FUN.UN) because the company was bought by a private real estate firm. I decided to reinvest the money into a similar residential REIT so I bought Northview Apartment REIT. I already covered all the details about this transaction in my previous post.
AdSense Earnings
Adsense earnings from the blog: $0.67
Adsense earnings from YouTube: $68.35
Total AdSense earnings: $69.02
The Adsense earnings are growing nicely. I’m really pleased with the way YouTube channel is growing. I was lazy in July and made fewer videos compared to June, but I was still able to earn more money in July. My YouTube channel reached 2,077 subscribers and my videos cumulatively receive 1,285 views per day.
