In January, my portfolio value increased by $914 from 178,633 to $179,547. January was a volatile month for the stock market amidst the presidential inauguration and the tariffs treats. Despite the volatile trades, my portfolio came up on top.

Sold 160 shares of Medical Facilities (DR.TO) for $16.48 per share
Bought 69 shares of Capital Power (CPX.TO) for $52.46 per share
I decided to sell all my DR.TO shares and redeploy the capital to CPX.TO. I’ve owned DR shares since 2017 for an average price of $13.47. It was trading at a loss for a long time. In 2020, the shares dipped below $3 but I hang on to them. Since then, the company was on recovery journey and reached $16.50 in 2025. Now that I made a bit of profit, I decided to close my position and move on. I’m glad that I held on and collected the dividends while I waited.
Ads Revenue
In January, I collected $243.45 in adsense revenue from my YouTube channel. That was really low, but I only posted a few videos. I was too busy with work and couldn’t prioritise YouTube in January.
