Welcome to the first monthly update of 2024. In January, my portfolio value increased by $350 from 155,610 to $155,960. It’s basically at the same level as last month. The Canadian stock market was also trading sideways, but still trading on the top range.
Dividends
Dividends received in January 2024: $744.58
Dividends received in January 2023: $670.68
Year-Over-Year Dividend Growth: $73.90 or 11%
Year-To-Date Dividend Income: $744.58
The dividend growth is at 11% compared to the same period of last year. The growth rate is sustained by dividend reinvesting and dividend increases.
Transactions
Bought 4 shares of Capital Power (CPX.TO) for $37.53 per share
Bought 15 shares of Enbridge (ENB.TO) for $48.30 per share
All purchases were funded by dividends. As of 2024, I now have a new contribution room of $7,000 in my TFSA Account. I didn’t start funding my TFSA yet because I’m prioritizing mortgage payments in the first half of this year. I will probably contribute to my TFSA in Q3. Meanwhile, I will continue reinvesting the dividends.
Ads Revenue
In January, I collected $283.70 in adsense revenue from my YouTube channel. It was a very slow month on YouTube and the ad rate usually drops in half during the December to January roll-over.
