The S&P/TSX composite index gained 68.77 points to 13,440.61, leaving the market up five per cent for this month alone amid positive earnings news and growing confidence about steady economic growth.

The best performer of the day was Pembina Pipeline (PPL.TO) up by 1.19% or 41 cents to $34.79.
The worst performer of the day was
Leisureworld Senior Care (LW.TO) down by 1.14% or 13 cents to $10.80.
