All of my stocks were up, except for LW.TO and PPL.TO.

The best performer of the day was LTS.TO, up by 1.64% or 9 cents to $5.57.

Pembina Pipeline
The worst performer of the day was PPL.TO, down by 0.56% or 19 cents to $33.75.

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $140.82 to $13,179.37.

Liquor Stores
The best performer of the day was LIQ.TO, up by 0.75% or 11 cents to $14.72.

Lightstream Resources

The worst performer of the day was LTS.TO, down by 2.87% or 16 cents to $5.41.

Portfolio Value Update - November 26, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $1.45 to $13,348.78.
I know it's a very small amount, right? But comparing to the TSX which fell over 120 points, that's a good performance.

Veresen
The best performer of the day was VSN.TO up by 0.87% or 12 cents to $13.93. Stocks like VSN tend to rally towards the end of the year. The year is not finished yet so there's still some more upside.

Wajax
The worst performer of the day was WJX.TO down by 1.52% or 55 cents to $35.54. The stock is loosing it's momentum as it's approaching the 200dma and it's pointing downwards.

Portfolio Value Update - November 25, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $14.55 to $13,347.33.

Leisureworld Senior Care
The best performer of the day was Leisureworld Senior Care (LW.TO) up by 1.47% or 17 cents to $11.70. In my November 14 update, I wrote that the stock is heading to it's resistance level of $11.75.

Lightstream Resources
The worst performer of the day was Lightstream Resources (LTS.TO) down by 1.75% or 10 cents to $5.60.
The Close
The Toronto stock market closed little changed Monday as energy prices and stocks declined further after Iran and world powers arrived at an agreement about Iran’s nuclear program on the weekend.

The S&P/TSX composite index closed down 6.12 points to 13,472.22, with further pressure coming from mining stocks as gold prices fell following the announcement of the Iranian deal.

Portfolio Value Update - November 22, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $96.13 to $13,361.88.
All of my shares were up today except for DR.TO which finished slightly lower.

Lightstream Resources
The best performer of the day was Lightstream Resources (LTS.TO) up by 2.33% or 13 cents to $5.70. The stock has rebounded a little from yesterday's low. I think the dividend cut was already priced in and the stock should be going up from this level.

Medical Facilities
The worst performer of the day was Medical Facilities (DR.TO) down by 1.28% or 22 cents to $16.93. There were no specific news that caused the stock to go down. Probably a little sell off because it's trading at all time high. Nothing to worry about.

Portfolio Value Update - November 21, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $148.93 to $13,265.75.

Liquor Stores
The best performer of the day was Liquor Stores (LIQ.TO) up by 0.76% or 11 cents to $14.55.

Lightstream Resources
The worst performer of the day was Lightstream Resources (LTS.TO) down by 7.93% or 48 cents to $9.57. The stock plunged following the news regarding the 2014 capital program and production guidance. Next year will be a transitional year for LTS. They will be cutting the dividend by 50%, terminating the DRIP program, and selling non-core assets in effort to reduce debt and strengthen the balance sheet. This year or next year it's the worst time for me to sell my shares, however I will start reducing my position in LTS after 2015.

Portfolio Value Update - November 20, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $51.56 to $13,415.10.

Leisureworld Senior Care
The best performer of the day was Leisureworld Senior Care (LW.TO) up by 0.70% or 8 cents to $11.46.

Enercare
The worst performer of the day was Student Enercare (ECI.TO) down by 0.60% or 6 cents to $9.89.

Portfolio Value Update - November 19, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $15.96 to $13,466.66.

Enercare
The best performer of the day was Enercare (ECI.TO) up by 1.22% or 12 cents to $9.95. I see a potential break up above the resistance level. The next short term price target is $10.80. However, I would like to mention that the tax selling is coming in December. I don't think it will affect this particular stock because year over year this stock is up.

Student Transportation
The worst performer of the day was Student Transportation (STB.TO) down by 1.05% or 6 cents to $6.61. A month ago, when the stock was reaching its previous high of $6.90, I suggested that it will trade sideways. Well, this time it held very nicely above the moving averages, however this stock has a tendency to fall on the last week of the month. So there could be more downside to it before we hit December.

Portfolio Value Update - November 18, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $23.31 to $13,482.62.
It was a quiet day for Canadian markets. The TSX was down by 24.50 points 13,458.06. On the other side, good news for US markets. Both Dow Jones and S&P 500 reached milestones by hitting the all time highs.

Leisureworld Senior Care
The best performer of the day was Leisureworld Senior Care (LW.TO) up by 0.79% or 9 cents to $11.44. It's getting very closed to the resistance level. There could be a short-term retracement to $11, but eventually it will break above the resistance level of $11.75.

Freehold Royalties
The worst performer of the day was Freehold Royalties (FRU.TO) down by 1.76% or 41 cents to $22.93. I think this is the buying opportunity. However, this stock is tied up to WTI Light Crude Oil prices. It will move the same direction as oil does. But since this is a royalty company, it is trading at higher valuation compared to its peers.

Portfolio Value Update - November 15, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $89.67 to $13,505.93.
I'm happy to see my portfolio finally passing the 13,500 mark. All of my stocks, except DR, went up. The Canadian markets finished higher as well.

First Capital Realty
The best performer of the day was First Capital Realty (FCR.TO) up by 2.09% or 36 cents to $17.56. I think the stock is ready for another run. It held very well above the 50dma which was around $17.

Medical Facilities
The worst performer of the day was Medical Facilities (DR.TO) down by 1.33% or 23 cents to $17.01. It actually opened lower and dropped to $16.74 in the morning, but then it was steadily going up and closed at $17.01. The drop relates to its Q3 earnings report. I didn't have a chance to read it yet. I will have to analyse the earnings report in order to decide If I keep the stock or not. So far it looks very good to me.

Portfolio Value Update - November 14, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $129.84 to $13,416.36

I was glad to see that all of my stocks, except FCR, were up today. It's a busy earnings season in the markets and most of my companies are reporting good quarter results.

Leisureworld Senior Care
The best performer of the day was Leisureworld Senior Care (LW.TO) up by 6.10% or 64 cents to $11.14. LW reported a good third quarter earnings report. Their net operating income was $16.3 million, compared to $15.4 million in the same period of 2012. Their current payout ratio is about 75%. The next resistance level for this stock is about $11.75, so there's about 5% of the upside potential.

First Capital Realty
The worst performer of the day was First Capital Realty (FCR.TO) down by 0.52% or 9 cents to $17.20. Actually, this is the only stock in my portfolio that finished slightly lower. When the stock dropped below $18 a few weeks ago, I mentioned that it will find some support around $17 level. Now it's critical that it stays above the 50 day moving average and eventually break above that red line. After all, FCR is a solid company.

News on the Market (Links will open in new window):

Portfolio Value Update - November 13, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $47.81 to $13,286.52.

Crescent Point
The best performer of the day was Crescent Point (CPG.TO) up by 1.13% or 45 cents to $40.32.

Liquor Stores
The worst performer of the day was Liquor Stores (LIQ.TO) down by 3.17% or 46 cents to $14.07.

Portfolio Value Update - November 12, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $75.53 to $13,238.71.

Medical Facilities

The best performer of the day was Medical Facilities (DR.TO) up by 0.66% or 11 cents to $16.76. This is one of the stocks you can safely buy and hold for the 6.7% dividend yield. I would still be a buyer at those prices, however my position is full. When my portfolio grows bigger, I will definitely add more shares to my position.

Liquor Stores

The worst performer of the day was Liquor Stores (LIQ.TO) down by 2.02% or 30 cents to $14.53. If it doesn't bounce back tomorrow then the stock could drop by another dollar.

Portfolio Value Update - November 11, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $66.23 to $13,314.24.

Leisureworld Senior Care

The best performer of the day was Leisureworld (LW.TO) up by 1.23% or 13 cents to $10.53. However the stock is hitting the resistance level here. I believe the stock has built a faire amount of support around the 10 dollar level and should be considered as a buying opportunity. But first, I would wait for it to go above $11.

Liquor Stores

The worst performer of the day was Liquor Stores (LIQ.TO) down by 1.53% or 23 cents to $14.83. Unfortunately, the stock failed to break the resistance last month. It's now trading near the previous low and should have a technical bounce within the next few trades. I would not recommend buying here. Just wait until the stock trades above the 50 day moving average.

Portfolio Value Update - November 8, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $198.19 to $13,380.47. Most of my stocks were in green except for a few names that were slightly down.

The Toronto stock market closed sharply higher as a much stronger than expected American employment report encouraged buyers while at the same time raising worries that the Feds could be set to unwind a key stimulus program.

The TSX composite index gained 84.13 points to 13,378.33, as investors also took in Canadian jobs numbers that breezed past expectations.

Portfolio Value Update - November 7, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $188.77 to $13,182.28. All of my stocks were in red today except for VSN.TO which was unchanged. The TSX Index closed at 13,294.20, down 86.21 points, led by resource stocks and weak commodity prices after the European Central Bank unexpectedly slashed its key interest rate to a new record low.

Portfolio Value Update - November 6, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio increased by $125.79 to $13,371.05.

Veresen

The best performer of the day was Veresen (VSN.TO) up by 5.41% or 69 cents to $13.44. The market responded very positively following the Q3 earnings report.

For the third quarter of 2013, Veresen generated net income attributable to Common Shares of $27.9 million or $0.14 per Common Share, compared to $12.5 million or $0.06 per Common Share for the same period in 2012. Each of Veresen's operating segments generated increased third quarter earnings relative to the same period last year.

Wajax

The worst performer of the day was Wajax (WJX.TO) down by 1.93% or 70 cents to $35.54. The stock failed to break the resistance and now the shares closed below the 200 day moving average. There's some more short term downside here.

Portfolio Value Update - November 5, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $5.93 to $13,245.26.
This is my fifth consecutive down day. Hopefully my stocks will do better by the end of the week.

Crescent Point

The best performer of the day was Crescent Point (CPG.TO) up by 0.27% or 11 cents to $40.25.

First Capital Realty

The worst performer of the day was First Capital Realty (FCR.TO) down by 2.08% or 37 cents to $17.39. The stock closed just above the trend line. It will be critical for this stock to hold above the 50 day moving average which is around $17.

Portfolio Value Update - November 4, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $34.45 to $13,251.19.

Pembina Pipeline
The best performer of the day was Pembina Pipeline (PPL.TO) up by 1.61% or 55 cents to $34.63. Nice chart here, however I think people are not ready to pay over $35 for this stock. At least not me. My average price is around $29. If it gets to $32 I will add to my position.

Leisureworld Senior Care

The worst performer of the day was Leisureworld Senior Care  (LW.TO) down by 0.85% or 9 cents to $10.53. The stock closed just below the 50 day moving average which indicates that there could be another slide tomorrow. The next support level is at around $10.

Dividend Income Report - October 2013

For the month of October I received a total of $101.84 in dividends vs $66.95 a year ago. That’s an increase of 52 percent on year over year basis! This is the second consecutive month that my dividend income exceeds $100 mark. My total Year-to-Date dividend income for 2013 is $934.33. For the list of my companies please click here.

Portfolio Value Update - November 1, 2013

Today my Dividend Portfolio decreased by $118.35 to $13,285.64.
The markets took a little hit today, but my portfolio got hit even harder. Only 2 stocks out of 12 gained today. The rest of the stocks closed in red territory.

Liquor Stores
The best performer of the day was Liquor Stores (LIQ.TO) up by 2.33% or 35 cents to $15.36. I heard a rumour on the radio yesterday night that the world is running out of wine. I think they are talking about the real grape wine since most of the cheap bottle wines are coloured water with sulphites and alcohol. I will not get into details about fake wines :). Another reason for this stock to go up is the holiday season. People will buy more booze during next month so the markets are speculating for a little earnings boost. While I wait for this stock to go higher, I'm peacefully collecting my 7% dividend.

EnerCare

The worst performer of the day was Enercare  (ECI.TO) down by 2.41% or 24 cents to $9.74. The stock had a great run for the past 2 weeks, but failed to go over $10. The trend is still intact and it pays a nice 7.15% dividend.

The Toronto stock market closed lower Friday as investors took in encouraging manufacturing data from China and the United States. The S&P/TSX composite index declined 23.8 points to 13,337.46, pressured by continued weakness in the gold sector as prices hit a two-week low and Barrick Gold (TSX:ABX) announced a huge stock offering.
