Portfolio Value
In October, my portfolio value increased by $4,622 from $129,808 to $134,430. Most of the increase came from stocks appreciation. The stock market had a good run-up in October reflecting the positive earnings reports from most companies. The only sector that is suffering right now is manufacturing due to supply chain crisis.



Dividends
Dividends received in October 2021: $479.19
Dividends received in October 2020: $434.91
Year-Over-Year Dividend Growth: $44.28 or 10.18%
Year-To-Date Dividend Income: $4,578.92

The dividend income is back on the growth trajectory after being stuck at around $450 for the last four month.

Trades
October was a busy month in terms of transactions. I sold two companies and bought four in both regular and TFSA accounts.

Let’s start with the sale. 

I sold Cominar REIT (CUF.UN.TO) and Artis REIT (AX.UN.TO). Cominar announced that they will be acquired by a consortium led by multiple real estate companies including Artis REIT. Both REITs are exposed to Office and Retail sectors. These are not the best sectors to be in at the moment, so I decided to let the two companies go.

I had 140 shares of CUF.UN and 250 shares of AX.UN. I received $4,570.60 from the sale of two companies. I also had money accumulated from dividends so I had around $5000 to buy new stocks. 

I bought into 2 REITs, a pipeline and an insurance stock.

Here’s what I bought:

185 shares of Northwest Healthcare REIT at $13.40 per share ($2,479.00)

25 shares of CT REIT at $17.65 per share ($441.25)

50 shares of Pembina Pipeline at $42.18 per shares ($2,109)


And 4 shares of Manulife at $25.05 per share in a taxable account.

All in, I invested $5,129.45 in October.

In October, I collected $684.15 in adsense revenue from my YouTube channel.
